On the opposite side, reach Cape Camarat and the Bird Island with its colony of gulls and cormorants<\/span><\/strong>, overlooked by the Camarat lighthouse. Then, go through the cove of good terrace which will allow you to connect the 4 kilometers of fine sand of the beach of Pampelone where was filmed some mythical scenes of the film “And God created the woman” with Brigitte Bardot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medieval village<\/span><\/strong> of Ramatuelle will seduce you with its narrow and winding streets, decorated with bougainvillea. On Thursdays and Sundays, a Provencal market<\/span><\/strong> animates the Place de l’Ormeau. Finally, its viewpoints at the top of the village and at the bottom of Victor L\u00e9on street with its orientation table are worth a visit. The authentic village of Ramatuelle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During your stay in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, you must absolutely go and discover the charming village of Ramatuelle, perched at 130 m high and overlooking the sumptuous bay of Pampelonne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The village center, typically Mediterranean, has the particularity of turning on itself and has kept all its authenticity<\/span><\/strong>. Take the time to lose yourself in its charming little winding streets, in search of architectural heritage<\/span><\/strong> testifying to the city’s past. You will come across several remarkable sites: the Saracen gate dating from the 16th century, at the eastern entrance of Ramatuelle has remained intact, the Sainte-Anne chapel, the singular old prisons which were probably a former hammam<\/span><\/strong>, the Church of Our Lady, built at the end of the 16th century to replace the parish church destroyed during the wars of religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be careful not to miss the shop dating from the 15th century, the cercle du littoral, the oldest association of Ramatuelle, the AASSDN memorial, the staircase called “Eiffel” of the n\u00b02 of the place Gabriel P\u00e9ri, and the adorable wash-house of La Font-d’Avaou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beaches of Ramatuelle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Famous all over the world and in the high spheres of the international jet-set, the bay of Pampelonne has made the reputation of the region and participated in the creation of the myth of Saint-Tropez. Its 27 hectares<\/span><\/strong> are the cradle of sumptuous beaches of white sand and turquoise waters<\/span><\/strong>; and of establishments that are true institutions such as “La voile rouge”, “Le club 55” or “Tahiti” where Hollywood stars, fashionable artists and great soccer players flock. But behind this glittering decor, there are magnificent secret beaches<\/span><\/strong> of breathtaking beauty, which you should take the trouble to discover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, south of the beach of Pampelonne, is the Anse de Bonne Terrasse. Former stronghold of the local fishermen, it offers a picturesque and authentic setting. The beach of l’Escalet, with its crystal clear waters<\/span><\/strong>, will make the happiness of the amateurs of diving. Don’t forget your masks and snorkels!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To reach the creeks of Canadel, you must take the coastal path. Take the trouble to come in the morning to “reserve” the exclusive enjoyment of one of these hidden beaches! Places of interest in Ramatuelle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ramatuelle is resolutely turned towards its littoral which has many places of interest to be spotted during your hikes. It is an interesting way to discover this beautiful and surprising region. By taking the coastal path, you will have the opportunity to see some of them such as the Dolmen de la baie Briande, the Roche Escudelier and its commemorative plaque, a captured spring called Lou Pous (“the well” in Provencal).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lights of the Camarat lighthouse stand at a height of 130 meters. It can no longer be visited, but it is an exceptional viewpoint<\/span><\/strong> on the Var coast and you can admire the \u00cele aux Oiseaux (Bird Island), whose nearby ochre-colored peaks rise to the sky. At the bend of Cap Camarat, you can admire the breathtaking beauty of Ch\u00e2teau Volterra overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Built in 1906, it is now a prestigious winery.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between the Douanes beach and the Briande beach is the Cap Taillat. As if resting on transparent waters<\/span><\/strong>, the site, protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral, is of indescribable beauty and a must-see! The vineyard of Ramatuelle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Indissociable from the economic and touristic landscape of Ramatuelle, the vineyard extends over nearly 760 hectares of vines<\/span><\/strong> which represent 20% of the territory. The first vines were planted by the Greeks 600 years before our era. Today, the vineyard has 120 members who produce mostly ros\u00e9 wines from the Tibouren grape variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
