History and origins of the Maison des Papillons<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Creation by Dany Lartigue<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Behind this initiative is one man: Dany Lartigue<\/strong>. A talented painter and passionate naturalist, he has collected thousands of specimens<\/strong> over the years. Attracted by the fragile beauty of butterflies, he has devoted part of his life to their observation<\/strong> and preservation<\/strong>. His wish? To share this wealth with as many people as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transfer to the town of Saint-Tropez<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Initially a personal space, the Maison des Papillons<\/strong> was then entrusted to the town of Saint-Tropez<\/strong>. Since then, it has been responsible for preserving and showcasing this exceptional collection. The Maison des Papillons has become a must-see for the curious and the passionate, in a town where art and nature blend harmoniously. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

An impressive variety of specimens<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When you enter the Maison des Papillons<\/strong> in Saint-Tropez<\/a>, you’re plunged into a colorful and fascinating world. More than 35,000 butterflies<\/strong> from the four corners of the globe<\/strong> are on display. Among them are local species, as well as exotic varieties with intriguing shapes and colors. In particular, visitors can observe the<\/strong> rare and mysterious Mercantour Black Apollo<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artistic staging<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dany Lartigue has not contented himself with presenting these insects under glass. He has integrated<\/g> them into pictorial compositions<\/g> in which the butterflies appear to evolve in their<\/g> natural environment<\/g>.
