Some, like Golf de Beauvallon and Golf Blue Green Sainte-Maxime, overlook the bay. Others, like the prestigious Golf de Saint-Tropez in Gassin, are nestled in the wooded hills, for a Provencal ambience. The Gulf of Saint-Tropez is a unique setting for this sport.

The heritage of swing: a golfing history rooted in Provence
The Var is France’s historic golfing region. Golf de Beauvallon is one of the region’s patriarchs. The estate was founded in the early 20th century, and the course was created around 1926. Its clubhouse, designed in 1927 by Pierre Chareau, is even listed as a historic monument.the other courses are more recent, reflecting the region’s tourist development: Sainte-Maxime opened in 1991, Gassin in 2004 and the modern Golf Up in 2017.

Golf Club de Saint-Tropez (Gassin): an exceptional challenge
Designed by Gary Player, this 18-hole course (Par 71) is the most exclusive. It’s a technical layout with a high slope (142), reserved for experienced players. Hole 13 is renowned for its view of the port of Saint-Tropez. The course features a number of blind holes requiring precision and strategy, adding to the overall challenge. Access is mainly reserved for members and guests of certain luxury hotels on the peninsula, ensuring a peaceful playing experience.
Golf de Beauvallon (Grimaud): authenticity with a sea view
This historic 18-hole course (Par 70) extends over 40 hectares facing the sea. Appreciated for its well-maintained, natural layout, it’s easy to play on foot. One of the oldest courses in the Var, it exudes authentic charm with fairways lined with cork oaks and mimosas. Its panoramic views over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez are a major asset.


Golf Bluegreen Sainte-Maxime: a panoramic and technical course
This 18-hole (Par 72) course is famous for its undulating terrain (cart required), which you can discover on your camping vacation near Sainte-Maxime. Designed by Peter and Don Harradine, it winds its way through scrubland and cork oaks, with
Golf Up (Grimaud): the fun, modern approach
This complex offers a 9-hole Pitch & Putt course on synthetic turf. Play is fast (1h15) and accessible to all. Prices vary from course to course. The green fee at the Saint-Tropez Golf Club (in Gassin) is the highest, at around €250.
Rates at Golf de Beauvallon and Golf Blue Green Sainte-Maxime are more affordable, ranging from €75 to €90.
Golf Up remains the most affordable, with a 9-hole green fee of €34.
