Tourism in Grimaud and Port Grimaud

Many activities are waiting for you as well as many places of interest to visit in the Var during your stay in campsite Grimaud. Nestled in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the commune extends from the medieval village proudly bearing its castle overlooking the sea to the lakeside town of Port-Grimaud which can be visited by boat.

Two different atmospheres then: on the village side, plan a visit to the Castle, a medieval emblem of the city dating from the ⅩⅠth century and stroll through the cobblestone streets of this listed site. Many other monuments are to be noted such as the church of Saint-Michel which is the oldest church of Romanesque style of the Gulf.

On the seaside, the city is labeled as XXth century heritage thanks to the unique concept invented by the architect François Spoerry who imagined a modern city that would bend to the demands of fishermen: a house with a boat to be moored in front. You can do the visit on foot, but also treat yourself to a magical boat ride on the canals.

Note the superb stained glass windows designed by the painter Vasarely visible in the church of Saint François d’Assise, not to be missed during your campsite vacations in Port Grimaud. A visit to the Heritage Museum is a must in the region, bringing together several buildings, a forge, an old oil mill, a village house, it wonderfully retraces Provencal life and its traditional activities over the centuries.
