The Azur Park story: a Var saga
This is not an ephemeral installation put there for the season. Azur Park is part of the Var‘s local heritage.
It all began on July 13, 1968. At the time, mass tourism was beginning to sweep through the Côte d’Azur. Holidaymakers needed something to do after the sun went down. The Paillon family had the right idea when they created this amusement park on marshy land. Today, the company, headed by Serge Paillon, manages this behemoth.
Over the decades, the park has evolved. From the simple bumper cars of the early days, it has moved up a gear. In the 90s and 2000s, the technological arms race began. Azur Park invested in Italian and Dutch prototypes to satisfy its thrill-seeking clientele.
